Acronym for Domain Name System, which is a distributed system for assigning names to computers and other resources connected to the Internet. Responsible for mapping a domain name, such as www.google.com to the IP address 74.125.129.99.

Example: Our website is live, but you won't be able to access it by domain name until the DNS changes propagate.
